Brussels Airlines from Virgin Express and SN Brussels

Brussels Airlines with a distinctive 'b' logo representing Brussels and the taxi and runway lights has just been announced. It is formed from the merger of Virgin Express and SN Brussels. The Virgin Express logo and branding was not available to the airline indefinitely following its purchase by SN Brussels so a new brand for a merged airline was developed. It means that from 25 March 2007 Brussels Airlines will offer cheap flights on 50 routes out of Brussels up from the 20 served by Virgin Express.Flights will start at 49 Euros one way including all taxes and charges. It will achieve this by offering a cheap flight ticket class known as 'b.light' on its flights while offering a with frills service known as 'b flex'. It will also offer a lowest fare guarantee on its 'b.light' fares though I feel it is unlikely that cheaper flights meeting the terms and conditions for getting a refund of the difference in fares will be found as there are few other budget airlines operating out / into Brussels as the most likely competitor on the routes is BA Connect (the BA being British Airways not Brussels Airlines) which will soon become flybe. However since the two company's had a code share agreement their flights were not timed close together. The good news as I see it is more cheap flight options from the United Kingdom to Brussels and beyond.
