Air Berlin takeover of dba

On the 17th of August Air Berlin finally acquired 100% of dba's shares. This will mean that Air Berlin will be growing and there will be a lot more routes opening. dba is to operate as an independent company under Air Berlin, but through Air Berlins marketing. dba will be available through 13,000 travel agencies throughout Germany. Air Berlin and dba combined can now carry 20 million passengers, so it should increase the companies turnover. There has been a purchase for 25 Boeing 737s to replace the aircraft being leased in 2008. The good news for customers is that Air Berlin will have many more seats and routes operating from next year.
