bmibaby expands at Birmingham

Birmingham International Airport is due to get new low cost routes following an announcement by bmibaby this week that it is to aim at a 60% expansion over the coming year. The airline will recruit three Boeing 737's to the bmibaby fleet at Birmingham. The expansion will lead to increase flight frequencies on some of its existing routes as well as the addition of new routes, although details have not yet been released.
The airline recently announced that it would be adding two new aircraft to its fleet in the Summer of 2007 and is also pulling out of Durham Tees Valley Airport freeing up capacity for more popular routes.
