Ryanair drops Cardiff <> Dublin

Ryanair is to cease flying the Cardiff <> Dublin route from 1 May 2006. The airline cites Cardiff International Airports rise in charges which Ryanair claim to be 350%. Ryanair will transfer passengers who have already booked to / from Bristol by coach until 10 May 2006.
The increase in airport charges hasn't deterred another Irish low cost carrier, Aer Arann who will take over the route on 1 May 2006.
