From 2 May 2006 it will be possible to fly from Manchester to Vienna with
Air Berlin using their transfer hub at London Stansted. This takes the hassle out of transferring baggage between flights. Looking up their website today revealed plenty of flights between Manchester and Stansted for £1 plus £18 taxes and charges (total £19 , one way). In addition to Vienna onward flights can be made to eight German cities plus Palma Mallorca , which happens to be another Air Berlin transfer hub. The non domestic flights start at £29 one way inclusive.
